Festival season has crept up so fast this year, its crazy. Anyone going to any festivals this year? I think ill be going to Wireless this year, so its you're going... holla, haha.
I thought it would be cool to do a post on festival wear and ideas of different outfits you could rock at a festival. However, I wanted to give myself more of a challenge and design 3 looks around some plain denim high-wasited shorts, whilst incorporating as many of the SS13 looks. As you all know I really don't like going shopping in shops, I would rather shop online. As I'm going on holiday in August (holiday wish-list and haul coming soon) I have seen so many amazing things at stores such as MissGuided, ASOS and BooHoo. Whilst looking for holiday stuff I noticed that these sites have the most amazing stuff for the upcoming festival season. This year at Coachella, (America's version of our festivals) celebrities rocked out their best festival wear.
I love love LOVE the bold colours and prints that many of these celebrities were rocking, clashing prints is one of my favourite trends at the moment, and its clear to see that its going to be a huge hit at festivals this year.
Kimonos and Monochrome Madness
This is one of my favourite looks, I love the whole denim with the cycle shorts underneath. Kimonos are going to be huge this season and it goes so well with this outfit, it also gives it that boho festival look. I decided to stick to the whole monochrome trend as I think it goes well with this outfit. I thought I would add a pop of colour with the bold lip, in bright pink. Im sticking with a trusty snap back, I would personally wear it backwards with this outfit, I love the gold studs on it to, it ties in with the gold accents the outfits got going on with the chains and rings. I love layering necklaces, as I love the effect it gives the top you wear and as this is a crop top the chains will come to about where the top ends which looks rad. To top it of, you can't go wrong with a pair of plain black converse and a black cambridge satchel.
l absolutely adore the whole denim on denim trend, especially this look that I have created, as the shirt is denim but had a bold floral print all over it, which makes the shirt stand out, I love a good colour and the fact that its short sleeve is perfect for a festival. I would definitely rock this look to festival, I feel its very different and the look is very unique. Its very 90's, with the whole casio watch, chains, big hoop earrings and the air max thing going on. I have actually had my eye on these trainers for months, they are perfect, I am obsession over all things mint at the moment. As the outfit is very blue and green inclined, i thought i would add pops of colour, so i decided to go for a huge bow headband, i love love love head gear and floral crows arnt the only things you can wear on your heads at festivals, why not go bigger and better. I wanted a bold lip, as bold lips during the day are the way forward, and you cant go wrong with red. to finish of the outfit I thought a red backpack would suit the whole 90s thing this outfits got going on, very well.
Neon meets Sports Lux
The sports lux trend is one of my favourite trends out at the moment, so I thought I would incorporate it with hints of neon and red. When I saw this jersey I literally leaped for joy, I love it so much. I have to admit i'm not 100% sold on the whole perspex clutch bags thing going on, but I saw this particular one and thought it went well with the outfit, plus at a festival you're not going to have much in your bag apart from your ticket, camera, phone, lipstick and money, so I guess its not that bad. I thought some red Docs went well with this out and you definitely need some Dr Martens at a festival. I've had my eye on these floral sunnies for such a long time, I think they are absolutely gorgeous and would go with everything, I'm a huge wacky sunglasses lover!
Hope you like this post on the coming up festival season and I hope some things from these outfit can inspire your festival looks.

Hello Emmanuella,
ReplyDeleteI'm also taking the freedom of leaving you this comment because I'm currently working on a fashion-related dissertation for my MSc. I'm doing a survey about the perception of young women towards today's fashion luxury brands, and if you, or any of your lovely reader, could take 5 mins and complete it, that would help me a lot :)
Here the link of my survey: https://fr.surveymonkey.com/s/2SQNKSV
Thank you very much!
