Goodbye 2014

Well hello there.
This is a little strange, on the good'ol blog after a massive hiatus, its SO crazy to think that the last time I blogged was back in March 2014 now its 2015, how fast has time gone? It does make me extra sad that I left it this long to blog, only blogging 6 times in the past year was disastrous, but don't fret because guess who's back, back again, well kind of, ha. I really wanted to do a farewell post to 2014, because the year literally flew by but it was one of the best years of my life. Its a shame that I haven't written about all that happened but I guess there is no time like the present, am I right or am I right?

Well I guess you all know that I was undertaking an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) and boy oh boy was it hard, but guess what guys, I have officially finished the degree and classes are over for good. I still have a couple of assignments due in the next couple of weeks but that's it now for me, learning in a controlled environment is finally over. I was contemplating doing a PHD but I think I want to put it on the back burner and focus on other things. Being in full time education for 12 years straight has been the longest thing I have ever done, but personally the most rewarding. Results are not out till around February time, just praying everything will turn out okay. I also got to meet the most amazing people this year and some of them have even become long life friends, just feel so blessed to have had this opportunity.

I Got to spend a good time during the summer in New York and it exceeded my every expectation, there is no words to describe how at home I felt in this city and its strange because I've never felt that way before, it was unreal and I really can't wait to go back. We stayed in New Jersey for the weekend and headed to Atlantic City which is basically a mini Vegas and it was unreal, we stayed by the beach, which was super chilled, Corona on tap, the people were lovely, food was glorious ah just perfect. Moving from NJ to New York was a whole different world, we trekked down on the grey hound, which is just like a coach service. Words cant describe the first feeling of being in that city, it kinda makes you feel like anything is possible. I remember one night in our hotel room before we were getting ready to go out, we looked outside our hotel window and could see everyone opposite in their apartments and all of a sudden we all started to wave at one another it was literally just like out of the movies. While in NY saw a couple of viners which was pretty insane, and got to hang with Lil Jon at a pizza place in the meat packing district which was so random and I got to visit Madison Square Gardens which is like my favourite place ever!

Oh, I got to spend my 23rd birthday on top of the Empire State building, which was just out of this world, and that day we got to see Barak Obama, no biggy. As we were walking to a bowling ally he was coming out of a hotel opposite so they literally shut down all the streets  it was insane, yet so funny to see native New Yorkers getting angry because they couldn't go on their daily routine because the streets were shut down, yet all the tourists were standing and watching, it was hilarious. Ah I could talk about New York forever, but one last thing, also on my birthday I had my first ever chipotle experience, oh my goodness gracious me, lets just pause for a moment, it was absolutely sensational, I have no words, we had in twice in one week. That is all.

In October, my friends and I flew to Paris for the weekend, to see one of my favourite bands The 1975. First lets talk about the concert, no words to describe my love for the 1975 I have been in love with their sound for over two years now and I still cant get enough, so when we found out they were releasing more tickets for tour we hoped onto it, however, all the UK dates had sold out and they released their European tour dates so we go tickets to go to France and boy was it amazing. These guys are in a league of their own, they put on the most amazing performance and the venue was super small so it was such an intimate crowd which was insane. So glad we stayed the weekend to explore Paris as I had never been, I really didn't know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I feel in love with the place, it is literally the most gorgeous place, words fail me, don't even begin to ask me how beautiful the people were, honestly I have never seen better looking people anywhere else in my life, like everywhere we went everyone was just stunning. We went to this amazing bar that was run by two brothers, the sweetest guys ever, if you're ever in the Moulin Rouge area check out Le Bourche.

A couple of little things that happened this year, I got to see my amazing pals Rixton perform at a home gig in Manchester, it is crazy to think that 2 years ago these guys were called Relics and hardly anyone new their name, now they are absolute rockstars and I couldn't be prouder, they put on the best show. If you ever get a chance to see them live do it, they are insane. During lent 2014 I decided to go off Twitter for the whole duration and for those who know me thats a big deal as I am all tweeting and stalking other peoples tweets, but I managed to stay off it for the whole of lent which was something that I was super proud of.
Not sure what I will do this year though, not giving up twitter again though as I don't even seem to be as active on that site anymore. In November I was reunited with some of my amazing friends that I hadn't seen in a year, as the majority of 2014 I had no social life due to excessive amounts of work. All my pals headed down to my apartment and it was just amazing to see their faces as I hadn't seen them in so long. Oh, I also spent the whole of Christmas and New Years in Nigeria, which was just the best thing ever. I hadn't been there since 2007 which was such a long time ago. It was so good just to chill and relax... well I take that back, as for the duration of the Crimbo period I was pulling my hair trying to get my dissertation handed in, but never the less it was a wonderful experience being able to spend time with my family and meet so many other people I haven't meet before.
Even though 2014 was a stressful year, it was amazing and I feel so blessed to have seen the year through. I'm so excited for 2015, yet apprehensive, as I am entering the unknown. I have finished my degree and I have no clue what I am doing next, its nerve wrecking but I'm excited to find out what God and life in general has in store for me. In 2015 I would love to travel and explore more places, I would love to add Miami, Dubai and Santorini to the list. I would also love to get my blogging mojo back and be whhh-acking out regular posts, I've already got a few planned already, so I want to make it my best blogging year yet, as it is just something that I really enjoy doing. Overall in 2015 I just want to be happy and healthy and be able to do the things that I love. Thanks to everyone that has still stuck by me and continued to follow my blog, even though last year I was the worst blogger in history, but I promise bigger and better things for the lil ol'blog in 2015, starting off with a new layout, what do y'all think? Oh and I also want to change my blogger URL, does anyone have any advice, will I lose everything if I do?
