3 Looks, 1 Item The Bodycon Midi Skirt

Bodycon Midi are slowly starting to become very "in fashion", of late. I'm seeing more and more fashion bloggers, youtubers and celebrities adopting the trend.
My black bodycon midi is one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe, as it is so versatile and can be worn in so many different ways. This type of skirt also fits any body frame, it automatically gives you a gorgeous shape and adds class to every outfit. Below I thought it would be cool to shows three different looks using a plain black midi skirt from Topshop, a "day look", "work looks" and an "evening/party look".

Look 1 - The Midi "Day" Look

The Midi - Day Look

Here we have the first look, known as the "out and about day look". I absolutely love this look, It look so effortless yet edgy and current. The galaxy print t shirt is very on trend at the moment, as galaxy was one of the top prints in 2012 and is still going strong in 2013. You could tuck this t shirt into the skirt, to snitch in the waist or you could have the t shirt hanging out lose, either way the skirt and the t shirt compleiment each other very well. I thought it would be cool to add some cherry red Dr Martens, as I feel you cant go wrong with these shoes. They automatically give any outfit a grunge sort of feel, which I love. I'm a firm believer in wearing colour on your lips during the day, why not? So adding a berry lip goes perfectly with the berry docs. I kept the jewellery for this outfit gold, with the chunky chain and rings. I love chunky chains as they give a look an urban/street vibe. I thought a backpack would go better with the outfit, as its very current. Finally I love faux fur collars and this jacket is heavenly, I think it ties the whole outfit together.

Look 2 - The Midi "Work" Look

The Midi - Work Look

The second look is known as the "work look". Using the black bodycon skirt, I thought it would be appropriate to have a loose fitting top with a bow collar detail. This is because the skirt is very figure hugging and some work places my not appreciate that. However, with a loose top you are able to cover up most of the tighter areas, yet, still showing the beauty of the skirt. I thought you could add a plain black skinny belt to this look, to again snitch in the waist and give you more of a figure, whilst as work. The toe cap pumps are very on season at the moment, selling in shops such as Zara. The detailing with the toe cap on these heels gives them a much more classier look and the heel on the shoe is perfect for work, not to short, not to high. The bucket bag is great for this look, as the gold detailing on the bag matches the shoes and the Michael Kors gold watch, which also adds a touch of sophistication.

Look 3 - The Midi "Evening/Party" Look

The Midi - Evening/ Party Look

The final look is the "evening and party" look. I think this is my favourite out of the 3, as it is very me. I have had my eye on this Topshop embellished crop top for weeks and after creating this look I think I'm going to have to make a cheeky purchase. It is absolutely devine and would go with so much, such as disco pants, skater skirts etc, but enough about the top and back to the whole outfit. The main thing about this look is all the little pops of red. As the top and the skirt are both black, I felt the outfit really needed a pop of colour, and red complements the look so well. The chunky red heels are fantastic, as they give the outfit a 70s/80s feel. The red clutch bag with accents of black is gorgeous. As you all know I love a good red lip, so its perfect for the outfit. Finally I wanted to keep the jewellery at a minimum, as the crop top is very out there, so plain silver jewelled pear earrings seemed ideal.

I hope you liked this post and it can inspire you in someway, when styling up a midi skirt.

What is your favourite look?
